The sun is the largest star in our solar system however there are many stars just like is in the wider universe. The earth is just the right distance from the sun but our planet is not too hot or it is to cold. The light from the sun take 8 minutes to reach the earth and gives life to the plants. Astronauts will never able to land as reach 5000 degrees celsius. 100 times hotter than humans can stand. The sheer size of the sun means gravitational pull forces all planets in our solar system to orbit around it. Born 5 billion years ago the sun has been producing eat and light for a very long time.
