Title: Being a Prefect is a Huge Opportunity
Intro: I’ll be talking about my qualities in b eing a prefect.
Kia Ora Readers,
At Point England School we have 3 different types of leader roles in students related. There are Prefects, House Captains and Rangatahi. I am going to talk about the prefect role that I had the chance to be apart of for Point England in 2021.
Having the prefect role is a huge responsibility and a huge opportunity for you to have. To get the Prefects role, it’s not to be smart or being intelligent. To get the prefect position and role you need to have a application. What I mean by application is you need to write some detailed information and sentences about yourself and send it to the school principal Mr Burt.
Once he reads your application he’ll respond to you and say something like excellent! Amazing! Good Job! That’s a sign he’s proud of what you wrote down. A few days later, he’ll bring twp separate groups the boys group and the girls group. The boys & girls are not random people put into a group, the people are the applicants. Once you’re in his meeting he’ll tell you some questions about being a prefect, like how could you make the school a better place ? He than will announce you at the school prize giving.
The Prize Giving is a very special event in schools. It’s a result for your year. Mr Burt will call out the girls and boys prefect team. When I heard my name was called out, I was in dis belief. I was so excited that i was going to take charge of the school with the other prefect team. The Prefects have to do a korero for the school. They have to make presentations, movies & slideshows before every friday. Every friday in this whole year (not all but most) the prefects have to come up with a korero for the school. Something reasonable some responsible and something that people will actually listen to.
Conclusion:
Being a prefect is not to only be good at school, It’s also to be good at home.
To be a prefect It’s not only to be smart and to be intelligent, It’s to be responsible and to set good examples for the school.
