Task Description: Today in art, we did a art EXPO. My class Room 2 created a figure about Alberto Giacometti. We had to create our own figures, by using bandages and a base for the bottom to stand. After we did that all we had to paint it.

Task Description: For literacy we did Figurative Language. Figurative Language is about personification and metaphors. First we had to use onomatopoeia It's like "Pow!" "Boom!" those words. We had to use them and make 5 of our own ones.

Task Description: For literacy my group "Mussels" did a reading task for balancing act. We have to get some objects and make them balance. We have to record a video on how our objects balance.

Today in Art Rotations me and my class Room 2 tried a attempt to draw Edward Munch's drawing 'The Scream'. We made our own colours and trying to actually draw the actual one. Some people we're creative and they added there own colours to see if they can make a better one. 

Narrative.

 Begin Writing Here: Once on a christmas day, There was a family of five, the two sons and the one little daughter and the two parents. The two sons names were Sam & Rowan and the little daughters name was Aria and the mother and fathers names were Jennifer & Chris. They drove in there car and went to the christmas store. They were nearly there! “Oh no!” screams Sam. Jennifer quietly blocking Sam’s mouth. Chris says “What are we witnessing?” It was so odd because normally the place is normal and now It’s all rusty brown on the side, It looks like someone has threw mud on the walls and It’s all green and brown. “Icky yucky!” yells Aria. “I think I just did a poopy” says Rowan. Jennifer & Chris observes it. Jennifer & Chris walks out the car to go check what this green stuff is. Jennifer remembers something. Jennifer tells Chris a story. “Chris, It’s christmas today and I watched this movie about this green monster that ruins christmas. It’s like this green monster who ruins christmas he starts with the letter G” Says jennifer. “What, You’ve got to be kidding me, you really think the Grinch is real?! No way he is real, It’s just a movie. Not all movies are real. In fact ‘The Grinch’ only ruins christmas not the whole city of ‘The Harbour of Jacks.” says Chris. “Come on, just because It’s a movie some moves are based on true stories” Yells Jennifer. As if, if Chris would never believe Jennifer. In fact, how are they suppose to get there christmas festive clothing and decorations if they can’t even get pass some yucky bridge. 

Art Rotations: Georges Seurat.

Task Description: Today for Art Rotations we were learning about a famous artist named Georges Seurat. We have to create a google drawing and write down some information we learned about him. The painting we learned about was 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.' It's a famous painting of his. We found out different kinds of things about him, like his style of paintings, his DOB (date of birth) how many years it took him to finish the famous painting and the size of the painting.

Task Description: Today in maths we had to go in groups for maths. The group was Simon, Nina and Nesi and myself and Ms. McCartney. We made a chart to work this problem out. We solved it out with 10 selections. We had to pick out of the can an option, then when we pick it, we have to write down our selection. We have to pick 2 selections.

Task Description: Today in rotations for Te Reo we did "He aha te Taima" It's what is the time? We had to write down the times that are shown but in Te Reo.

Sustainability Water: Paragraph

 

If we waste water more animals, humans and plant will not live. If we save water and stop wasting it, more of the plants will live.

97% of our water is salt water, and salt water is NOT drinkable.  3% of our water is drinkable. Extra: 97% of our water is salt water. 2% of our water is locked up in glaciers, 1% of our water is drinkable.

Saving our water will save our plants and animals. Make sure not to waste to many water on plants. 

Climate change and pollution makes our water taste not so good. All the rubbish that has gotten into the water that’s causing a bad taste. 

Our water should not be for waste, and our water should not be polluted.  You shouldn’t just waste water, water is in need, only use water when needed. It keeps us healthy and it keeps the animals live and makes them healthy to.

We should stop polluting the Ocean, and use less water. We should only use water when needed. We should keep our environment clean.  

Farmers were asked to take care of there farm and animals, and keep an eye on the animals, incase they pollute the ocean.

Some animals pollute the water, not just farm animals, other animals pollute the ocean to but People think the problem is that dairy farming that the farm is near the rivers, and lakes and that the mud and dirt is getting into the water.

Farmers need to take care of there animals, and make sure  there animals are not polluting the ocean.

Renewable Energy

Task Description: Today's blog post is 'Renewable Energy'. We learned about energy, and we had to highlight important texts and descriptions that are important about energy.

Sustainability Water.

Task Description: Today I worked on my Water Sustainability. We watched 3 videos, and gave some tips and a important description on what we found out about the video. Next we had to do our SEE paragraphs, Statement, Explanation and Example.

Plastic Fantastic: Sustainability Environment.

Task Description: For this weeks literacy we did Plastic Fantastic. We learned about plastic been affecting animals and we  also learned about Sustainability. We had to watch a video and list down some notes and some information from the video we just watched. For our create task, we had to create a slide and poster for our readers to read and know what we've been leaning about. 

Te Reo: Rotations

Task Description: For rotations we did Te Reo with Mrs. Tipeni. We did weathers. We had to write down the Maori word for the whether that it shows.

Rata And The Tree: Literacy

Task Description: For Literacy we did Rata and The Tree. It's about Rata cutting down the trees to make a Waka to save his villagers. The sea and sky gods known as Tāwhirimātea & Tangaroa the two brothers battled off.  Rata And The Tree

Taha Wairua: Colours.

Task Description: Today for Te Whare Tapa Wha we did Taha Wairua. For Taha Wairua we had to pick whether we wanted to do colours or everyday objects. I picked colours! I was gonna put plain colours down, but I didn't want it to look so basic like nearly everybody else does. So I picked to do the queens outfits aka Queen Elizabeth II. I chose her. I got images of her wearing the colours from the Maori song.

Task Description: Today in Maths we did a task called 'Movie Time'. We had to answer questions in 24 hour time. We worked as a class and figured it out. The next slide I wrote down a description on what the answers for 'a' 'b' and 'c' are.

Te Horetā: Literacy

Task Description: Today in literacy we had to do  5 facts about Te Horeta. We had to watch a video and read a story. We had to list down 5 facts about him in our own words.

Converting Times, 12 hour clock and 24 hour clock.

 Task Description: Today for Maths, we did 'Converting Times' and '12 Hour Clock and 24 Hour Clock'. We did A.M's and P.M's Ante Meridiem and Post Meridiem. Post Meridiem means after midday and Ante Meridiem and before midday.

Tongan History

For our literacy class we watched Tongan videos since It’s ‘Tongan Languge Week!’ The video I chose out was the Tapa Cloth. Pacific islanders like Tonga and Samoa pacifiers use these Tapa Cloth. I also learnt the roots are really easy to do with the Tapa Cloth. Islanders use Ta'ovala well you use Tapa Cloth to make these Ta'ovala.

Taniwha: Literacy

Task Description: For literacy we did a Taniwha task! We have to use our minds and write a description of your creative Taniwha. We have to draw it out and draw whats based on your taniwha.

The Mālohi

The Mālohi was a gigantic monster. He had two reindeer deer curved sticks right on the top of his tippy toe head. He has navy green eyes and a yucky sticky black tongue. The Mālohi has a yucky massive wart on his tip of his  nose that he always licks. He has sharp razored out nails pointing like they are about to blitz out and strafe. He has spikes pointing out on the tips of her back. He has very long extended teeth. He has fluffy fluffs that are itchy and tangled. He rushes through the forests and trees, He is like a rapid fire speeding his way through all the targets that are incomplete. He is a very angry colossal monster.

Taha Whanau: Dame Valerie Adams.

Task Description: For Te Whare Tapa wha we did Taha Whanau. For Taha Whanau we did Dame Valerie Adams a amazing worldwide shot putter. We had to list 7 facts about Dame Valerie Adams.

Bradley's Magical Recipe.

Task Description: For this task, we had a choice on making a magical creature, creating a myth or a legend about your creature or make a magical spell recipe for your creature, I obviously picked spell recipe. What is a spell recipe?: Creating a spell recipe for your dragon means by creating a magical food for your create that can eat. I picked a basic recipe. Pancakes I called it *Yummy Delicious Pancakes* anyways. I gave the steps on how to make some delicious pancakes, you can make some pancakes if you'd like just note that the recipes are right here! 

Taha Hinengaro.

Task Description: Yesterday for Te Whare Tapa Wha we did Taha Hinengaro! For Taha Hinengaro we did what things we are good at. I picked these things because these are stuff, I like doing all the time, and things I would do a lot. 

Literacy: Taniwha.

Task Description: Today in literacy we did a task about the New Zealand Taniwhas! We had to go on the transcript and pick out a Taniwha we would like to learn and give a description about. I picked Ngake and Whātaitai. Ngake. It was created by Lee Watt. It is in the Wellington Harbour, (as it says from the story). On slide 4, I gave a picture on what it looks like! 

Taha Tinana 2020

Task Description: Today for our Te Whare Tapa Wha, We were doing Taha Tinana,  It's all about Physical Well-Being. It's about sleeping, eating healthy (nutrition) fitness and drinking water. These tips could help you be more active and stay fit and be healthy throughout all the days you come across. I listed a description about why these tips may help.

Measurements 2

  Task Description: Today in Maths we did Measurement 2! On this task we had to do which is larger  and like converting larger units  into smaller units. We did Activity 1 and Activity 2 we had to convert all of the measurements into cm (centimetres) and kg (kilograms) then for Activity 2 we had to do which measurement is larger by how much.

Taha Whanau L3 2020

Task Description: Today for Te Whare Tapa Wha we did Taha Whanau. This is most likely about being an active cooperative member of your family. In this task we gave went on a website named 'Avatar Creator'. What do we do on there you ask? We create some of our family members, well based on Taha Whanau. I created my 5 people in my family. My two brothers, my mother and my father. Next we had to give a description about them. The middle one is me! :D 

A story of Creation!

A  story of Creation! This is about the Ojibwe. The First Nation people of Canada! First we had to watch the video. Next step was to do a storyboard! If you don't know what a storyboard is, It's where you have pictures and sentences like randomly anywhere, then you have to put all the pictures and sentences together in the correct order. Last slide, you have to give 'five' facts about the Ojibwe.

Measurements!

WALT: Estimate Measurements and read different scales.

Task Description: Our task was Measurements. We have to work out the highlight what we most likely think what 10m is. We have to figure out the capacity for the large jug. Next we had to figure out what's most likely the width of a large window. We have to learn the Approx length, and the order. Next we had to do this thing called 'Reading Scales' It's a website where you figure out the measurements and the scales of a object, It's easy at first until you go to the next level. There are 6 levels to complete. After we have tried all the levels, we have to insert our score into the boxes.

Different Units.

Task Description:
Today in google meets, me my class and I, had to do a measurement task. We have to learn about different units, and times. We have to learn how to measure with the objects that are shown on slide 3. On slide 4 we have to figure out how much time it takes to do these things.

Yr 7 Step Up Leadership Highlight.

Yr 7 Leader Ship Highlight: My highlight for the Yr 7 Leadership program was, the shared lunch. We had all different kinds of food even some junk food. The junk food that was there was amazing. My favourite food from the shared lunch was the pizza and the hot chips. There was a lot of hot chips and pizza! As you can see in the photo on the right, that's my substitute prefect group. I was apart in the substitute prefect group. This photo was after the prefects assembly. We took a photo, and headed back to class. There was lots of chips, different kinds. There was also different kinds of drinks, and there was a lot of chocolate.

Therapy dog at Hamilton school proving to be a top teacher

At 11 weeks old,/ Daisy joined the school two weeks ago/ to be trained/ as a therapy dog,/ and as students enter/ Te Ao Mārama primary school/ in Flagstaff each morning,/ they are greeted/ by a small furry/ spoodle Daisy, the latest member/ of the school's staff.

Deputy headmaster/ Anna Pratt — and Daisy's owner — said she became interested/ in the growing phenomenon/ of therapy dogs being used in schools around the world.

"It is really popular in America,/ and also in Australia," Ms Pratt said. "There were a lot of things we considered,/ such as the breed, the size, the type of coat/ — Daisy has a wool coat/ so she doesn't trigger any allergies./ She has been at school/ now for a couple of weeks,/ and she has been growing/ in confidence and the students/ have been getting more confident around her/ as well."

Daisy, who is a half poodle and half spaniel,/ is identified by the fluoro orange jacket/ that has been specially made for her,/ to show that she is a dog/ in training, and to also make her stand out/ when at school events./

Ms Pratt said that having a therapy dog/ as young as Daisy/ also helps with dog education,/ and the responsibility/ that comes with owning/ a dog.

"I was astounded/ as to how many kids/ here had never touched a dog/, or even seen a dog."

"So many kids come up/ saying I'm really scared of dogs,/ but I really want to pat her/ and now those kids are some of the ones/ who come up first to greet/ Daisy."

Daisy's routine/ includes heading to road patrol/ in the morning and roaming// through the learning areas of the school or teaching spaces./

"Children will read/ to her or draw pictures/ for her in class, and then after that she will eat/ and sleep/ for a bit."

Task Description: Today for our task, We done a task about Brown Brother. Joshua Losefo talked about this, and I was a bit confused about it, I explained what is a stereotype, and the poem is about certain styles. 

Properties of Shapes: 2020

Task Description: Today for our maths task, This is about drawing different shapes, and doing it's equal sides, equal angles, Lines of Symmetry and Order of Rotational Symmetry. We had to draw 8 different triangles and 16 different quadrilaterals. I only done 8 because I couldn't figure any other out, I done 8 quadrilaterals and 7 different triangles.

So, How it's is explained is you got to do a warm up called a Push-up. You have to time yourself and take a video of yourself doing "How many push ups you can do in 1 minute". Today I finished this task, about a 'Volcano Eruption' that happened in 'Mount Ventus'. Mount Ventus is a place in Italy where the Volcano had erupted in. We had to answer these questions wisely and try to get them all correct.

Task Description: For this task we did it as a whole class, and so this task is mainly about the graph. So for the graph it shows how many new confirmed cases there we're now, In the next slide, It gives us questions to answer, These questions are mainly repeatable so like you got to repeat going back and forward from slide to slide to figure out the answers for these.
